Ten definitions rephrased in my own words:
1 Symbolism: use of symbols in order to represent an abstract idea.
2 Onomatopoeia: a word made up by the sound it makes (tick tock for a clock).
3 Persona: the role or character that the author assumes.
4 Archetype: a universal symbol that belongs to human nature.
5 Satire: a literary genre that criticizes society by the means of irony.
6 Colloquialism: ordinary everyday language in a literary piece.
7 Rhetorical question: a figure of speech represented by a question. Although it requires no answer, it clarifies the understanding.
8 Ellipsis: the deletion of a word or a couple of words by means of suspension dots: the actual use of the word or words would be redundant.
9 Parody: an imitation of an original piece of work in order to make fun of it.
10 Irony: saying the opposite of what one thinks.
Five terms I would like to learn rephrased in my own words:

2 Oxymoron: a figure of speech made up of two opposite elements.
3 Climax: a point in a story where everything has changed and from which there is no turning back.
4 Cliffhanger: an unexpected event at the end of a chapter that compels the reader to continue reading to find out what happens.
5 Ad Hominem: a personal attack when two persons argue.
